On October 6, 2014 the Wall Street Journal reported the ambitions for a first-of-its-kind executive program for Chief Marketing Officers [CMOs] created by The Wharton School and IBM.
The ambition is now real. The new program, CMO Advantage: Evolving Beyond the Digital Revolution, led to invitations by The Wharton School to some 45 select CMOs among Global Fortune 500 companies and equivalent enterprises, including our own Steve Cranford, who was nominated for CMO Advantage by IBM.
As described by Wharton, this one-of-a-kind program will enable CMOs and other participating senior executives to:
Re-examine their current marketing approach, with its many incremental fixes that have been applied over time, and envision a "desired present" – what they want to implement in the here and now.
Cranford, Creative Chairman of the category-creating brand agency WHISPER globally, shared this upon receiving news of his invitation:
"IBM and Wharton's commitment to move beyond incrementalism — so that enterprises and products can achieve cultural esteem — aligns with our client focus at WHISPER. Wharton's will be a riveting experience."
CMO Advantage is scheduled for sessions in Philadelphia and New York throughout the next year.
